What is Normalization?
If you are worried that what is it, then keep on reading to understand it in the easiest way possible. The organization conducting recruitment drive exams must balance out the difficulty level ratio for aspirants of all shifts. In such exams where there are numerous shifts, the paper is never the same. A few aspirants may argue that the students appearing in first few shifts have a certain disadvantage over others who appear in shifts later on. And a few other aspirants may feel that the organization has raised the difficulty level of exam of few particular shifts whereas the difficulty level for all other shifts was easy-moderate. In such a scenario the organization may use normalization of marks as an effective tool to clear any dispute between the difficulty levels of papers. The organization may add a mark or two in the total score of the candidate if the paper of his shift was very difficult in comparison to other shifts or may deduct a mark or two in the reverse scenario subject to their rules, formula, and guidelines for normalization.
