i. Kerala Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan launched the host city logo for Kochi, one of the venues of FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017. The logo represents and reflects Kochi’s identity and will be a valuable tool in linking the local community in a global World Cup.
ii. The tournament will be hosted in the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium of the city. In October 2016, Kochi became the first Indian city to be officially declared as one of the venues for hosting the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

- This is the first FIFA tournament hosted by India.

PM Modi to Attend 9th BRICS Summit in China
i. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attend the 9th BRICS Summit, Xiamen in China’s Fujian province during 3rd to 5th of September.

First Synergy Conference on Defence Pension
i. The Defence Accounts Department (DAD) organized its first Synergy Conference on Defence Pensions in New Delhi.
ii. The objective of the conference was to obtain feedback from the pensioners that would help the department to serve them better with constantly improving systems and procedures.

Shri Rajnath Singh Inaugurates “YUVA – A Skill Development Program”
i. The Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the YUVA – a skill development program. It is an initiative by Delhi Police under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
ii. Delhi Police has tied up with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for providing mass job linked skill training for the selected youth.
