➤RCB, Nazara tie up to launch online cricket game
i. Royal Challengers Bangalore and gaming entity Nazara Games have come together to launch a new mobile cricket game RCB Star Cricket. ii. This will also mark the first cricket franchise to have a game off the field and on the screen.
➤P V Sindhu reaches career-best World No.2 ranking
i. Rio Olympics silver medallist P V Sindhu jumped three places to achieve a career-best world number two ranking in the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings.
ii. The 21-year-old shuttler from Hyderabad became only the second Indian woman after Saina Nehwal to break into the top-five of the world rankings by earning 75759 points.
➤PM to launch digital exhibition on Champaran Satyagraha
i. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a ‘special digital exhibition’ on the Champaran Satyagraha on 10th April 2017. It is a unique initiative to re-envision the theme of the movement undertaken by Mahatma Gandhi.
ii. The exhibition was titled as ‘Bapu Ko Karyanjali’.
iii. This effort will dovetail into the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, and generate greater awareness towards cleanliness, in the run-up to the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in 2019.
➤Centre kicks off programme on Cyber Physical Systems
i. The Department of Science and Technology (DST) has initiated a Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) program.
ii. CPS is an interdisciplinary field that deals with the deployment of computer-based systems that do things in the physical world such as, the self-driven cars produced by Google and Tesla.
iii. It has been conceived as a Rs 3,000-crore exercise that would at first take root in some of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). An initial budget of Rs 100 crore has been earmarked for the project in the current financial year.
