i. The Karnataka government unveiled the State flag (nada dhwaja ) for the state. If approved by the Centre, Karnataka will be the second State to have a flag after Jammu and Kashmir.
ii. The yellow-white-red flag has the State emblem at the centre. The proposal will be now sent to the Union Home Ministry for approval since a State has no powers to announce its own flag.

➤ Karnataka’s Belgaum Is Now Home To India’s Tallest Flag

i. India’s tallest national flag was unfurled in Belagavi (also known as Belgaum) in Karnataka. 
i. Belagavi District Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi unfurled the 9,600 sq ft wide flag on a 110-metre-tall flagpole.

i. President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated World Hindi Secretariat in Mauritius capital, Port Louis. The Secretariat is fully financed by India and a grant of 33 crore rupees was provided. The land was provided by the Mauritius government.
ii. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of this building in 2015.

i. Actor Jackie Shroff’s short film ‘Shunyata’ has won an award at Best of India Short Film Festival in Los Angeles, US. The 22-minute fiction film directed by Chintan Sarda was selected to be in top six from amongst thousands of entries and was played at a theatre in Los Angeles.
ii. An industry based jury then adjudged it the best film. The prize includes a cash prize of $1,000.
