West Bengal Police Constable Recruitment
West Bengal Police has released 5702 vacancies for Constable. But Female applicants are not eligible to apply for the post of Constable. In this article, you will get all information about Exam pattern, eligibility criteria, selection procedure, etc.
Last Date for Submission of Application : 30th April 2018 (5 P.M.)
Last Date for Submission of Application (off-line): 02.05.2018 (5 PM)
Pay Scale: Pay Scale of Rs.5,400–25,200/- (i.e. Pay Band-2) + Grade Pay Rs.2,600/-.
Age Limit:
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 27 years
- Scheduled Castes (SC) & Scheduled Tribes (ST): 05 (Five) years
- Other Backward Classes (OBC): 03 (Three) years
Crucial date for determining the age limit will be 1st January 2018.
Educational Qualification:
- The applicant must have passed Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
- The applicant must be able to speak, read and write in Bengali language.
Selection Process:
- Preliminary Written Examination (Qualifying In Nature)
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT) (Qualifying In Nature)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) (Qualifying In Nature)
- Final Written Examination
- Interview
1. Preliminary Written Test (Marks – 200)

- Question paper will be set in two languages (Bengali & Nepali).
- The marks obtained by a candidate in the preliminary written test will not be considered for preparing final merit list.

3. Physical Efficiency Tests :
PET consists of 1600 (Sixteen hundred) meters run within 06 (six) minutes 30 (thirty) seconds.
PET are qualifying in nature.

5. Inetrview:
In the Interview, the general awareness and suitability of the candidate for public service will be tested.
Final Merit List: Final merit list will be made on the basis of the marks obtained in the Final Written Examination and the Interview, a merit list of the provisionally selected candidates will be prepared by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board
