Railway Recruitment 2018: 26,502 Vacancies
Few candidates have reported that due to slow speed of application page of CEN 01/2018- (Assistant Loco Pilot- ALP & Technician), they could not register or make the payment on 30.03.2018. These reports are being looked into. In the mean while, the online payment gateway for CEN 1/2018 shall remain open on 31.03.2018 also till 10:00PM and submit the completed application before 23.59 hrs. of 31.03.2018. However, to avoid last minute rush, candidates are advised to submit their applications before the closing time.
Railway Recruitment Board has released the recruitment notification on 2nd Feb 2018 for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot & Technicians. Only single online application (common to all the notified posts- ALP & Technicians) has to be submitted by the candidate through the link provided in this post. Those awaiting results of the final examination for the prescribed qualification are not eligible and hence should not apply.

Pay Scale:
Level 02 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with initial pay of Rs.19900/- plus other allowances as admissible.

Some Important Points:
Candidates holding Degree, Diploma and HSC (10+2) having eligibility for the posts of ALP have to select relevant trade from the list of trades listed against their engineering discipline(which includes Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering , Mechanical Engineering ,Automobile Engineering with the combination of various streams in the respective Engineering Traits is acceptable for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot).
- Candidates passed out with Physics and Maths in intermediate(12th Standard) are eligible for Technician Grade III Signal and Technician Grade III Telecommunication posts namely Post 70 and Post 71 respectively.
- It has been notified that for the post of Technicians, Diploma/Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in place of course completed Act Apprentice/ITI unless it is specified otherwise. Following the same, Graduate Act Apprentice will not be accepted in place of Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA)

Age Limit:
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years
Age Limit as on 01st July 2018 i.e. born not earlier than 02.07.1988 and not later than 01.07.2000, for all above posts.
The maximum age relaxation:
- OBC – by 3 years & SC/ST – by 5 years
Application Fees:
- UR & OBC: Rs. 500/-
- Out of this fee of Rs.500/-, an amount of Rs.400/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges, on appearing in First Stage CBT.
- SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PWDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class : Rs. 250/-
- This fee of Rs.250/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges, on appearing in First Stage CBT.
There shall be two stages examination common for ALP and Technician:
- First stage CBT
- Second Stage CBT)
Only for ALP: Computer Based Aptitude Test (AT).
Note:Marks will be normalized in all the stages of exam.

- Total number of candidates to be shortlisted for second stage shall be 15 times the community wise total vacancy of ALP and Technician Posts notified against the RRB as per their merit in First Stage CBT.

- Qualifying Mark: 35 % (This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation is permissible).
- This part is qualifying in nature and shall have questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by Director General of Employment & Training (DGET).
- The candidate needs to secure a minimum score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify. This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation is permissible.
- There shall be no negative marking in Computer Based AT.
- The ALP merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the Aptitude Test, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the Part A of Second Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in Computer Based AT.
For ALP:-
Based on the performance of candidates in both Part A of the Second Stage CBT and Computer Based AT subject to their qualifying the Part B of Second Stage CBT.
Note: Any attempt by a candidate to submit more than one application against this CEN shall result in disqualification and debarment.
